The Cougars got off to a 2-0 lead with unassisted goals by Sally Stull and Leanne Monaghan. Karen Bell replied for the Sharks in the second period with assists to Mary Ann Allen and Shelley Dodds. Liz Holmes scored a nifty goal with one minute remaining in the game on an assist from Karen Bell as the battle of the Fitness Centres ended in a 2-12 draw. In the second game Acton Optical Lightning goalie Joanne Cooper was see- ing pucks as if they were beach balls! Lightning shutout the DNR Contracting Devils 3 0. Coop back stopped the Bolts to earn the shutout. Una Lalonde broke a scoreless tie in the second period with assists to Tracey Ferguson and Jane McKay. Mick Wood then slapped in a shot from the blue line early in the third period from Jen Stel- mach. Andrea Martin rounded out the scoring for the Lightning with Stelmach earning her second assist.
