BRANCH NO. 197 Comrades, The Branch has, this week, received a reminder from the Acton office of Canada Post. We have a post office box at the Bower St. Postal Station for the receipt of Acton Legion mail. Some of our correspondents are addressing mail to the Branch street address on Wright Ave. If you have occasion to write to the Branch, please use P.O Box #69 Acton Postal Stn. Main, L7J 2M2. Branch Elections. A little over a week from now we will be having our Branch election, please give consideration to the individuals you would like to serve on your committee; its your Branch. The nomination board is up in the clubroom, please do not write your choice on the board. Nomination forms are available at the bar, and must be signed by the person being nominated and returned to the steward. The election will take place on Monday, May 4. Dinner at 6pm. Tickets are at the bar now, $5 each. Election meeting starts at 7:30pm. Veterans Service Officer. The Provincial Service Officer will be visiting Milton Branch on June 23, 2009. Acton area Veterans and dependents requiring an interview are requested to contact the Acton Legion Service Officer, Dave Crook to arrange an appointment. Entertainment. On Saturday, May 2, between 3 & 6pm, for your pleasure, Eddie Smith will be playing on the patio, or if the weather is inclement, in the games room. RAMA. The bus trip to RAMA, is planned for May 23. MPP Christine Elliott, Randy Hillier, Tim Hudak and Frank Klees, who are all seeking the leadership of the provincial Tory party, have all been invited to attend. There will be an opportunity for people to ask questions from the floor. I want to invite everyone who cares about the fu- ture of Ontario to join us on April 29, Arnott said. Were hoping to have a good crowd. The event is open to the general public, and there is no admission charge.
