All the goals scored came in the second period. April Fagan put the Bolts in the lead from Pamela Ireland. Devil Daina McKellar tied it from Caro- lyn Hill. Kasey Shoebridge scored the winner from Carrie Gallant. In the second game, the Active Choice Sharks edged the Smooth & Trendzy Cougars 32. The Sharks built a quick 30 lead. Shelly Dodds scored first from Diane Blazenko. Janet Garton added to the lead with two goals both assisted by Jackie Wilson. The Cats made it close as Annette Kroezen scored from Helen Kui- pery. Sally Stull rounded out the scoring assisted by Kroezen. Theres no Acton Ladies Hockey for the next two weeks. Hockey starts up again on Friday, January 8. The first game is at 10 p.m. with Active Choice Sharks visiting DNR Contracting Devils. The 11 p.m. game is Acton Optical Lightning versus Smooth & Trendzy Cougars. The Macmillans Pee- wee select team played the Orangeville Flyers for their first game of the sea- son. The game ended in a 1-1 tie. Scoring for Acton, Matt Toebes assisted by Mason Coulighan. Solid goaltending by Bradley Karat prevented the Fly- ers from taking the lead through out the game. The defense and forwards also had a strong game, keep- ing the pressure on the Flyers goalie, especially in the third period. In their second game of the season, Acton met the Erin-Hillsburgh Dev- ils. The game ended with a score of Acton 7-Erin Hillsburgh 0. We start- ed off a little slow at the start of the game but really stepped it up in the second period to score seven goals, said Assist- ant Coach Scott Thomson. Goals for Acton; Randy Dales(3), Nick Brace, Toebes, Austin St. Croix, and Coulighan. Assists; Coulighan(2), Toebes, Ty le r Trembley and Dales. Great goaltending and earning the shut-out Zach Ross. Once we picked up our game in the second period, it was great to watch the effort displayed by the team to dominate the rest of the game, said Head Coach Mike Dawkins. In the third game, Acton beat the Milton Winter- hawks 2-0. Both goals were scored by Toe- bes. Assists; Matt Field, St. Croix and Andrew St.Croix. Shut out; Brad- ley Karat. The players bought into the system, and the results showed, said Assistant Coach Scott Thomson. In their fourth game of the season, Acton had a return game against the Orangeville Flyers.
