Novice Tanners finish season with 14-10-4 stats The RBC Sponsored Novice Acton Tanners fin- ished their regular season with a disappointing 9-5 loss to the Erin-Hillsburgh Devils last Sunday. The Devils opened the scor- ing in this intense game with three quick goals in the first five minutes. Before the period ended, Stuart Macdonald put the Tanners on the scoreboard with a nice rebound goal to end the first 3-1 for the Devils. The second period was scoreless for the Tanners and thanks to some great goal tending by Sebastian Woods, the Devils only managed to get one more to end the second 4-1 for the Devils. The third period was a scoring frenzy, the Tan- ners starting things off with a break away goal by Nic Jones early in the period. Luke Miehm was credited with the assist. The Devils matched that goal with one their own, but not long after that, Daniel Nascimento scored for the Tanners, to bring the score little closer, 5-3 Devils. Just when things looked promising, the Devils came on strong and scored four more goals. In the last two minutes of the game, Caleb Downs and Nascimento both got one past the Devils goalie, as- sisted by Zachary Booth and Michael Holmes, re- spectively, but it wasnt quite enough. Despite their hard efforts, the Tanners lost the game 9-5. Overall the Novice Tanners have had a great season so far, finishing the regular sea- son 14-10-4. Best of luck to the team for the play- offs.
