Nominations are currently being accepted for the following categor- ies: Entrepreneur of the Year. The recipient of this award exhibits excellence in starting and operating their own business, which has been established for one to three years, with 10 or less employees. In addition the Entrepreneur of the Year is recognized for displaying good busi- ness ethics, providing superior customer ser- vice and demonstrating innovation and creativity in operating their busi- ness. Green Award (formerly Civic Pride). To be selected, the nom- inee has to meet or excel Town Digest Future fi scal planning Faced with increasing demands for dwindling dollars, the Town will spend $74,560 to contract for a long-range fi nancial plan. BMA Manage- ment Consulting Inc. of Hamilton, will assess the Towns fiscal capacity, assess its fi nancial object- ives and policies, review existing fi nancial targets and measures and develop a forecasting mechanism that will demonstrate the overall impact of current and future decisions. In a report to Council, staff said the Town is experiencing increased pressure on the capital and operating budgets and will experience con- tinued increased pressures in the years ahead, deal- ing with growth which will increase demands on programs and services. A review found BMA Management Consult- ing Inc. to be the highest ranked tender respondent with extensive experience in financial planning re- view and a computerized fi nancial forecasting mod- el that would benefi t the Town in future years. The deal includes an annual licensing fee to pay for on going system upgrades, programming/ ana ly t i c a s s i s t ance , modeling support and automatic uploads of new data. Depending on the level of support the Town requires, the fee for 2011 could be from $2,500 to $7,500, and in 2012 (full year) from $2,500 to $15,000. in the qualifications re- quired in the category for which they were nomin- ated.
