The blue team included Dr. Frances Turk (right), owner/operator of the natural medicine facility with team-mate Rachel Christiansen (cen- tre) and Tanya Fleming (left). The event raised money for both the ALS and Parkinson Societies of Canada. GETTING INTO THE GROOVE: friends Syd- ney Azima and Sydney Durham - both nine - enjoyed fun at the Acton Arena on Family Day. The activities - Zumba dance class, meeting olympic torch bearers, face-painting, crafts and skating were all provided free by the Halton Hills Recreation & Parks De- partment. POOL PARTY: Forty- eight people enjoyed a swim at the pool at MacKenzie Smith Ben- nett Public School on Family Day. Nine year old Alyssa Marks (front) celebrated her friend Halles (centre) eighth birthday along with Halles younger sister Jamie-Lynn (left). The third annual Family Day swim on Monday was free courtesy of the Halton Hills Recreation & Parks Department. FREE SKATE: Perhaps inspired by the Olympics - many locals attended the free skate and other activities provided courtesy of the Halton Hills Recreation and Parks Department to celebrate Family Day at the Acton Arena on Monday afternoon. OLYMPIC FEVER: Alyssa and Mackenzie of Acton, both eight, were thrilled to hold the Olympic torch that George towns Jack Hamilton carried dur- ing the Torch Relay in December. Hamilton was at the Acton arena for Mondays Family Day that featured free activ- ities sponsored by the Towns Recreation and Parks department. LETS DANCE: Zumba instructors Catherine (red cap) and Mario (white cap) Javier were at the Acton Arena on Monday afternoon to celebrate the third an- nual Family Day. The Javiers taught the latin-based dance courtesy of the Halton Hills Recreation & Parks Department. Up front assisting the Javiers were local Acton friends Sydney Azima and Sydney Durham of Acton both nine.
