Neighbours of the centre on 15 Side Road between the Third and Fourth Lines want the Town to tell the NEC to revoke approv- als for equestrian events scheduled in a two-year permit that expires the end of this year. The NEC development permit allows six events lasting fi ve days with one day for set up and one for tear down. The May to October events are expected to draw 500 people daily with 250 vehicles, 75 horse trailers, up to 600 horses and up to 15 port- able toilets, The NEC is attempting to balance land use, noise and traffi c concerns of neighbours with rights of the owners who are allowed to have agricultural operations on their rural land. Neighbours point to violations by Halton Place and question why it is get- ting preferential treatment. The on-going issue is wearing thin for several politicians including Ward Two Councillor Bryan Lewis who said the onus is now on Halton Place to provide the proper documentation for the required permits.
