DENNY, Bob 1944 - 2010 Robert John Denny, beloved hus- band of Annie Denny of Grassy Lake, Alberta, passed away in Taber, Alberta on Saturday, Feb- ruary 27, 2010 at the age of 65 years following a long and cour- ageous battle with cancer. He is survived by Annie Denny, his loving wife of 41 years and their son William Denny of Grassy Lake, Alberta. He is also survived by Annies parents Aksel & Mary Thomsen; two uncles and aunts, Clarence & Vera Denny, Stan & Rena Morrison and cousins Vern (Linda) Denny, Ray (Mary-Lou) Denny and Joyce Denny all of Ontario. He was predeceased by his parents Ralph & Ethel Denny. Bob was born in Guelph July 19, 1944 and was raised and educated in Acton. He married Annie Thomsen on February 21, 1969. Bob will be remembered for the many years he spent driv- ing truck for ATW Transport, Dixie Tanklines and for his love of farming. In 2007 Bob fulfi lled his dreams, retiring and moving his family to Southern Alberta. Here he began helping at the local motocross track, grooming it with his old John Deere trac- tors. He will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him. Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. KNOX PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH Main and Church Streets, Georgetown. Working closely with the Museum Management Committee and accountable to the Board of Directors through the Chair, the MEAC shall be responsible for the care, organization and en- hancement of the Halton Hills Sports Museum and Resource Centre and the Sports Hall of Fame through its collection and displays. Responsibilities: Development of a promotion and communication plan for Mu- seum and Resource Centre. Development of outreach programs with school boards, service clubs, recreation and parks department and local community. Outreach programs need to be educational and shall be finan- cially sustainable. Manage membership database and communication to members, including recruitment of new members. Develop a business plan including fundraising and sponsorship strategies to assist in museum sustainability and to be self-sup- porting. Develop and implement a research, collections and conservation program including preserving and cataloging using approved soft- ware. Responsible for set up of displays and exhibits to increase attendance and to maximize exposure. Develop the resource centre by developing an interactive on-line computer education component. Assist with the on-going development of the museum web- site. Develop opportunities for volunteers, local sporting groups, schools, service clubs etc. to become partners and to contribute to the museum. Organize a link between local libraries and historical societies. Design a plan to make the museum financially self-supporting. Qualifications: Post secondary education in related areas or specialty certifi- cation in museum collections, artifacts, archival science and cataloguing including preservation and maintaining. Valid Ontario Drivers License (Class G) with access to a vehicle Current CPR/First Aid and Defibrillator Certification preferred WHMIS training preferred Must have sound computer skills including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with collections management software an asset. Must be well organized and have good administration skills. Must have superior communication skills, verbal and written. Have excellent customer service and public relation skills. Must be a self-starter with minimal supervision. Must be available to work some evenings and weekends for meetings and events.
