The Tanners were slow to start as the Tornadoes took a commanding 3-1 lead late in the second period. Ac- ton re-focused its energy and through will-power and determination was able to overcome and pull out a 5-4 win at the buzzer. ACTON 5 TILLSONBURG 4 On March 6 the Tanners returned to Tillsonburg for game four of this semi-final series which Acton was ahead 2-1. The Tornadoes on the brink of elimination hit the ice with re-newed vital- ity taking a 2-0 lead midway through the second period. Striving for a win the Tan- ners persevered evening up the tally at the end of the second. The third period saw both teams vie for a win, but it was Acton that was vic- torious with two precisely placed blasts of rubber to pull out the 4-2 win over the Tornadoes. ACTON 4 TILLSONBURG 2 It was only through a concerted team effort that advancing to this level in the playoffs was possible. The Tanners resident snipers, Brad Bollert, Christian Coleman, Carter Ebbinge, Matt Fritz, Jasson Lockyer, Adam McCoy, Evan Oul- ton, Kendra van der Eyken and Zach Vanderlee ensured that the adversarial mesh was well saturated with rub- ber. The defensive wall of TJ Baker, Logan McNabb, Todd Ratchford and Dylan Schouten ensured that of- fensive attacks launched by their opponents were effectively shut down and cage wizards Owen Cou- lighan and Mason Overland provided the final rubber barrier with their phenom- enal glove and stick work. Additional thanks go out to A/P players Tyler Kirkpat- rick, Jesse Keough and Will Richards, Nick Molinaro and Trevor Hennesey who when needed, provided as- sistance to the team during the season.
