New studies have shown that time outside can especially benefit the physical and mental health of children. Craw- ford Lake Conservation Area believes in the benefits of the natural world and would like to encourage families to spend more time outside by offering new, drop-in weekend programs aimed at young children. Caregivers and their infants can join other parents in the area for a morning walk with Craw- ford Lakes Nature Babies program. This is a stroller fit class with a purpose. A Crawford Lake guide will meet with parents and their babies and take them on a hike on one of the parks stroller friend- ly trails. Parents will have an opportunity to meet other caregivers while the guide provides sensory activities for the nature babies along the way. Visit Crawford Lake Some people are not aware of the penalties for speeding. Often people say that the police dont charge people until theyre doing at least 20-km/h over the posted speed limit. The offence of speeding begins when you exceed the posted speed limit by one km/h. In some areas, there is zero tolerance for speeding and any driver who exceeds the posted speed limit is stopped and charged. Speed is one of the three leading causes of death in motor vehicle collisions. Speeding causes loss of life. A conviction can cost you increased insurance pre- miums. A charge of exceeding the speed limit by 50 or more km/h (Racing) results in an im- mediate seven day suspension of your drivers licence and a seven day seizure of your motor vehicle. Upon conviction, it may also result in a 30-day suspension of your drivers licence. There is a fee to have your licence reinstated after you have been suspended. Slow down and drive safely.
