Acton/Georgetown, Friday, February 1, 2008 5 Halton Police are asking for help from the public in identifying who has been throwing items at vehicles from the railway overpass at Princess Anne Dr. over the past months. Police say the most recent incident occurred at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday when a woman was driving under the overpass in a Neon with her two children. A rock hit the roof of her car, causing about $500 damage. The woman stopped and an unknown man said that youths on the tracks above were responsible. Police were called but the youths had fled. Police say there have been several similar incidents at the overpass in the past year and ask anyone with information about Tuesdays incident or previous ones to contact Const. Ken Best at 905-878-5511 ext. 2105. Police also ask the man who spoke to the woman in the Neon to contact Best as he may have information to assist in the investi- gation. Locks were cut and 23 storage units were entered at Safe Self Storage at Winston Churchill Blvd. and Steeles Ave. sometime late last Wednesday or early Thursday. At press time there were no details avail- able on what if anything had been stolen. A Fujitsu Lifebook laptop, valued at $500, was stolen from a vehicle parked at the Tim Hortons on Mountainview Rd. Thursday. Police report a stereo, amplifier and sub woofers valued at $420 were taken from a vehicle parked at a 15 Sideroad home some- time early last Thursday. Two other vehicles at the residence were also entered and rum- maged through. An unknown man grabbed a womans wal- let that was sitting on the counter while she spoke to a clerk at Money Mart on Guelph St. last Friday at about 1 p.m. The man, described as white and wearing construction clothing, fled from the store with the wallet. Police report a mans wallet was stolen from an unlocked locker at Power Zone gym on Guelph St. between 3:30 and 3:45 p.m. Friday. A fire in the rooftop HVAC unit at FAB Meats on Winston Churchill Blvd. at about 11:10 a.m. Thursday resulted in about $20,000 in damage. The fire was quickly extinguished by fire- fighters.
