Photo by Ted Brown Georgetown Little Theatre proudly presents a hilarious Norm Foster comedy Drinking Alone at the still-open John Elliott Theatre. The proposed expansion and renova- tion of the Cultural Centre and minor alterations to the John Elliott Theatre, will require the shut-down of this, your community theatre venue. We, at the GLT, who recall the sacrifices and efforts involved in the fundraising and political persuasion to build the John Elliott Theatre, are concerned that there will be no theatre for you, our community to enjoy, for at least one season, unless our town, The Town of Halton Hills, steps up to the plate and offers an alternative venue during the reconstruction period. We seek all community input in possible solutions to this grave situation. This is a call for help not just for us at the GLT but for all artistic and cultural groups that our area is blessed with. Drinking Alone is a romantic comedy, directed by Kathryn DeLory, that features Mr. Fosters usual deft touch where he creates characters and situations who are so believable that theatregoers see bits of themselves reflected on stage. The Todds are no different from other families who have their ups and downs feuds, divorces and reconciliations. Regardless of age, children try to win the approval of their parents. Norm Foster deals with these family issues with honesty and a believable uplifting ending. When Joe Todd hires Renee Duchene to pose as his fiancso that he can impress his father Ivan, what transpires is everything from resentment, forgiveness, understanding and love. Drinking Alone runs Feb. 7-9, Feb. 13- 16. For tickets call the Box Office, 905- 877-3700 or www.haltonhills.ca/theatre.
