Nearly pulling off a huge comeback over Burlingtons Nelson Lords, the Georgetown Rebels were knocked out of the Halton high school boys varsity hockey post-season at home Monday afternoon in a sudden-death playoff. The Rebels lost the opening game of the best-of-3 series 4-2 last Thursday and trailed in Mondays contest before rallying to win 6-5, forcing a mini-game to determine which team would advance to this Thursdays Halton final. Rob McLay scored for the Lords 3:20 into the overtime period. Jeff Pierce (3), Mike Parsons (2) and Nic Grasby had the Georgetown goals. The Rebels season isnt over, however, as they leave Thursday for a two-week tour of Europe along with Christ the Kings boys team.
