Acton/Georgetown, Friday, March 21, 2008 23 ENTERTAINMENT Recently the Georgetown Little Theatre adult group and the youth company, as well as many family members gathered together for an evening of good food, music and conversation. However, there was another and more impor- tant reason for this gathering. It was an opportu- nity to recognize two very special individuals, who have made an outstanding contribution to Georgetown Little Theatre Productions. Anthea Hoare, current president of the execu- tive, presented Ron and Dorothy Hunt with Honourary Lifetime memberships of the Georgetown Little Theatre. Ron and Dorothy have been known as the dri- ving force behind the group for over 40 years. Ron Hunt has directed, performed, built and designed sets for more than 150 shows. Added to that he was president of the execu- tive for 18 years. His wife Dorothy was the cos- tume co-ordinator for the entire group for many years. She also served on the executive in every capacity at one time and anoth- er. Dorothys energy and drive were very evident when she spearheaded the fundraising and then the building of the groups home in Stewarttown twice. The first time when GLT managed to acquire the old Esquesing Town Hall to be their forever home, and again when the hall burned down in 1997. Both were very pleased by the recognition, and thanked everyone for their support. Ron said, I have loved every minute of this work. He followed that with some anecdotes of his time with the group. The speeches were topped off with a group singalong of For they are Jolly Good Fellows led by Ron himself! The members all gave wonderful compliments about the couple. When asked for one thing he would like to say about Ron and Dorothy, Paul dEntremont replied, When I think of GLT, I think of Ron and Dorothy. Theyve known me longer than Ive known myself. Its a privilege. Cathy Hunt (no relation to the couple) expressed her appreciation, Ron and Dorothy are the backbone of the group and have been strong supporters from day one. When asked what one memory the couple will always have about the Georgetown Little Theatre, Ron answered, I dont know of any other hobby more rewarding better than little the- atre.
