SHROPSHALL, Daphne Mavis (nee Whalley) Passed away at Georgetown Hospital on March 27th 2008 at the age of 68. She is remembered as be- loved wife of 50 years to Howard; loving mother to children Phillip Stuart (Lorraine), Christopher Neville, and Deborah May Ruth (Andy); and Nana to her five grandchildren Shannon Kristen, Jennifer Maria Ruth (Matt), David Robert (Angie), Bradley Stuart (Leanne), and Bailee Angel, and two great grandchil- dren Mason Stuart, and Emily Sara. She was loving sister to Geoffrey Whalley (Sherrill) and Janette Short (Kevin). Born October 28th 1939 in St Anne's, Lancashire, England to the late Stanley and Ruth Whalley, Daphne immigrated to Canada with her husband and three children in 1967. Daphne will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family, as well as for a life of tremendous service to the community. She was involved in many organizations over the years, ranging from the CNIB to local envi- ronmental action committees. The family would like to offer our special thanks to the staff of Georgetown Hospital, West Park Health Centre, Dr Ming's office, and all the medical professionals who took such great care of her during her years of illness. There will be a Visitation at 2.30pm followed by a Memorial Service at 3.30pm on Friday April 4th 2008 at The Salvation Army, Georgetown, 271 Mountainview Road South. Her ashes will be scattered, as per her wishes, in Lytham Cemetery Garden, Lancashire, England, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to West Park Health Centre Gzowski Fund (for COPD research) or The Salvation Army would be appreciated, and can be brought to the church on Friday.
