Formed in 1984, the Chorus is comprised of Police Service and community members who give freely of their time to promote harmony, good will, and the Halton Regional Police Service. Past appearances include Expo 86, the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, D.C., and in Virginia as guests of the Fairfax County Police Department. The Chorus travels annually to attend Police memorial services in Ottawa and Cleveland, Ohio and regularly appears at police events, community events, and visits to local hospitals and seniors resi- dences. Their repertoire is diverse and includes show tunes, gospel, and contemporary everything from toe tap- pers to tear jerkers. Pizza Pizza will be turning the phones over to the Canadian Association of Food Banks (CAFB) and its Phones-for-Food program. The recycled phones, regardless of age or condition, are sorted and sold to the remanufacturing industry, which in turn sells the refurbished products to con- sumers thus keeping the old cell phones out of landfills, where hazardous toxins from the phones might seep.
