The Finance Department has released its 2007 Remuneration and Expenses report, as required by the Municipal Act. The report lists the salary, benefits and expenses paid out to council and committee members last year. The Town spent $308,654 on council members pay, benefits and expenses in 2007. Lewis and Johnson claimed no expenses for Conferences and Seminars attendance nor any for Other (parking, 407 ETR or car mileage). Ward 2 Councillor Lewis was paid $22,038 and Ward 3 Councillor Johnson, $22,580. The difference lies in the benefits individual councillors choose to receive. Lewis was also paid $866 for his service as the Towns representative on Conservation Halton- $550 per diem pay plus $316 for mileage. Topping the expense claims was rookie Ward 3 Councillor David Kentner. He received $24,668 in salary and benefits and claimed an additional $1,828 for Conferences and Seminars and $2,030 for Other. Kentner also received $1,107 ($700 per diem and $407 Other) as the Towns repre- sentative on Conservation Halton board. He was followed by Ward 2 Councillor Joan Robson, who received $23,084 in salary and ben- efits and claimed $1,498 for Conferences and Seminars and $1,274 for Other. Robson was also paid $901 for service as the Towns representative on Credit Valley Conservation board ($653 per diem and $247 Other). Ward 4 Councillor John Duncan received $22,038 in salary and benefits and claimed $1,342 for Conferences and Seminars and $1,014 for Other. His ward colleague, Bob Inglis, received $25,210 in salary and benefits, and claimed $1,176 for Conferences and Seminars and $1,275 for Other. Inglis also received $90.50 for expenses as the Towns representative on the Conservation Halton board. Ward 1 Councillor Jon Hurst received $23,626 in salary and benefits and claimed $371 for Conferences & Seminars and $912 for Other. Ward 1 Councillor Michael OLeary received $22,771 in salary and benefits and claimed only $1,303 in Other. Regional representatives, Mayor Rick Bonnette, Jane Fogal and Clark Somerville received remuner- ation from both local and regional governments. Mayor Rick Bonnette received $58,767 in town salary and benefits and claimed $1,692 for Other. At the regional level, he was paid $44,908 in salary and benefits and claimed $2,275 in Conferences and Seminars and $1,928 in Other. Wards 1 /2 Regional Council Clark Somerville received $23,613 in salary and benefits and claimed $350 for Conferences and Seminars and $1,616 for Other. At the regional level, he was paid $44,787, plus claimed $3,646 in Conference expenses and $2,621 in Other. He topped all of his 20 regional council colleagues by a wide margin (more than $1,000). Wards 3/4 Regional Councillor Jane Fogal received $22,567 in salary and benefits and claimed no expenses from the Town. At the regional level, she was paid $44,787 and claimed $2,485 in Other. Remuneration for the Committee of Adjustments five members ranged from $960 (David Adair) to $1,700 (Al Cook). Other mem- bers are Ramsey Barr ($1,440), Erik Kowal ($1,031) and Clare Riepma ($1,040). Kowal also received $100 for his service on the fence viewer/property standards committee. Other members are David Anderson ($150), Kenneth Ewen ($250), Leslie Thatcher ($100) and Edward C.
