Acton/Georgetown, Friday, April 25, 2008 3 A nine-year-old Halton Hills boy was sent to Milton District Hospital Wednesday afternoon after he was struck by a heavy tow truck after getting off a school bus in front of his home on Regional Road 25. The youngster was released from hospital later the same day. Photo by Jon Borgstrom A nine-year-old Halton Hills boy escaped serious injury Wednesday when he was struck by a heavy tow truck while getting off the school bus in front of his home on Regional Road 25 (Hwy. 25). Police say just after 4 p.m. the southbound school bus was stopped north of 10 Sideroad with the lights activated to drop off Charles KaaKee when the transport tow truck towing another tractor traveling a few cars behind the bus didnt stop, and instead veered to the shoulder and continued moving forward. Police say the female bus driver saw the tow truck coming and attempted to get the child to stop getting off the bus, but she was- nt successful, and the boy was struck by the wheel of the truck. Police say there were no mechanical prob- lems with the bus or tow truck and have charged the driver of the tow truck, a 30-year- old Elmira man, with careless driving. The boy was taken to Milton District Hospital where he was treated and released Wednesday.
