The Spring Bazaar was a great suc- cess, and the wishing well full of items that would be useful during the barbecue and gardening season was won by Ticket #17 (Bev Jones). Ticket #33 (Cindy Arnold) took home the lovely hand-crafted teddy bear and #38 (Scott Silver) won the 50/50 draw. All the penny sale ticket winners were contacted by phone and the list of penny sale winning num- bers is posted at the Centre. It didnt take long for the bake table to sell out of the delicious pies, loaves, cakes and other goodies and everyone took time to sit, relax and enjoy the tea. The bazaar committee would like to thank everyone for their donations, and support for another successful baza- aar. Margaret Haring tells me that Nevis Bozics Brown team beat Betty Blains Black team 20 to 5. Looking at the score you would think they were well and truly beaten, but I could tell all 12 players were having a great time by all the shouts of encourage- ment I could hear. There were only nine ladies play- ing Bid Euchre on Thursday after- noon, and Ruth Burke had the only mooner. Evening Euchre will be on Wednesday, May 21 at 7 p.m. Maria Sallay had restarted her watercolour painting class on Wednesday mornings. They run from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and will continue until the end of June. Its great to see her back. There is a sign-up sheet at the front desk for the class, so if this interests you, come in and sign up. Now Spring has finally arrived, I think we all start looking at our homes and wondering what we can do to give it some sparkle. Karen Timms, an interior design artist from Decorating Den, will be here on Tuesday, May 20 to give you some great, fresh ideas. Thinking of redecorating if you have any items that are in good con- dition, but you dont have room for them (or the style doesnt suit your decor any longer) dont forget the Garage Sale on Saturday, June 14, starting at 8 a.m. Please dont bring anything until the Friday before (June 13). If you have been to the Centre you will know that we are bursting at the seams, and have no room to store items until the day before the sale. Victor Bissonnette asked me to mention he has started the Digital Camera course again. If you are inter- ested give him a call at 519-853-1242. The classes are on Tuesdays at 7:30-9 p.m. and runs for six weeks. Bring your camera. If you missed the first class he said, Dont worry. He will make sure you are up to speed. There is a Gals on the Go trip planned for the Wellington County Brewery in Guelph on Wednesday, June 11. We will have a bus, so no need to be concerned about driving after sampling. If you have signed up please pay as soon as possible so I can confirm totals. This week the 50/50 was not won again, so the pot should be around $275 by today (Friday) well worth stopping by and putting your loonie in the box and your name on the sheet.
