Ask for Casey Where Child Abuse Hurts Most Sometimes the worst scars of child abuse cant be seen. Whether physical or emotional, abuse attacks a childs self-esteem and emotional development, leaving long-term emotional trauma and pain. You can help prevent child abuse by being a nurturing parent or caregiver. By letting children know they are special, competent and loved, you can help them develop positive self-images and happier futures. If you feel overwhelmed, angry or frustrated as a parent, help is out there for you. Look in your area for support groups and services, or talk to a trusted friend, family member, pastor or doctor about what you can do to protect and support your child. If we all do our part to prevent child abuse, well get to the heart of the matter. Acton/Georgetown, Friday, May 16, 2008 5 Halton Hills hydro customers could see a drop on their bills, starting this month. The Ontario Energy Board issued a Rate Order decision on Halton Hills Hydro Inc.s (HHHI) rate application. A residential customer using an average of 1,000 kilowatt hours of electricity a month wil l see an average overal l decrease of approximately 5.8 per cent on their total bill, said Art Skidmore, HHHI corporate vice- president and chief financial officer. The OEB had approved a 0.75 per cent/1,00 kilowatt hour rate increase (about 80 cents) for HHHIs delivery of electricity to customers, but the overal l percentage dropped due to transmission rate decreases from Hydro One to HHHI. According to an OEB press release, distri- bution rates are set to recover the cost to deliver electricity to consumers and are based on a utilitys cost of providing electric- ity service. The distribution rate is reflected on the delivery line of consumers bills. Customers with questions about the new rates can call the HHHIs Customer Care depart- ment, 519-853-3701 or go to the Contact Us link at www.haltonhillshydro.com. Hydro customers in Halton Hills expected to see decrease in bills CYNTHIA GAMBLE Staff Writer The Halton District School Board has approved the School Year Calendar for 2008- 09.
