Acton/Georgetown, Friday, May 30, 2008 13 The group of protesters said theyve also now been told by school administration that they wont be admitted to the prom. They had col- lected a petition signed by about 200 people and had also turned to Facebook to publicize their plight. Now theyre trying to kick other people out for talking about it and I dont think they should be able to do that, Osborne continued. Its a Catholic school and it s in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms that you can have a peaceful assembly. Were not doing anything wrong out here. Both Harris and CtK principal Dave DeSantis declined to comment on the situation, and said the Halton District Catholic School Board would likely not discuss the issue either, citing the Municipal Privacy Act. Brad Osborne (centre) is surrounded by a group of Christ the King stu- dents who came to his defence Thursday after school officials barred him from attending tonights prom. Osborne is currently attending Georgetown District High School after being expelled from Christ the King two years ago. Photo by Eamonn Maher Students at CtK stage protest Continued from pg. 12
