But they are not out, however, as they plan to appeal the decision. The Keswick Sutherland School application had previously received the thumbs down from both Halton Hills Council and just last week, Halton Regions Planning and Public Works Committee. At Wednesdays meeting Regional council voted 14 to 7 against an amendment put for- ward by Burlington councillor John Taylor to support the proposed use of the lands that are subject to a Niagara Escarpment Commission development permit application and approve an application to amend the Regional Official Plan (OPA) to allow for the school and eques- trian centre. That amendment was actually the original recommendation in the Region staff report that was amended last week by a motion put for- ward by Halton Hills Mayor Rick Bonnette at the Planning and Public Works Committee meeting not to support the proposed use or OPA. Bonnettes motion was supported by the committee 7-2, and endorsed by Regional Council Wednesday.
