10 Sports & Leisure, Friday, June 6, 2008 Hannah Krul, Fiona Smith, and James Butson, members of the Gaudeamus Choirs of Halton Hills gathered on Wednesday to prepare for the upcoming benefit concert, Join Every Hand. St. Johns United Church is presenting the concert at 7p.m. on Sunday, June 8, at the church located at 11 Guelph St. The young singers, under the direction of Diane Murray- Charrett, will join a mass choir from three Halton Hills United Churches as well as an eclec- tic array of professional musicians including baritone Russell Braun, soprano Monica Whichar, jazz and pop vocalist Adam Broughton, folk singers Jim Broughton and Katherine Wheatley, flutist Pandora Bryce, and pianist and music director Carolyn Maule. All proceeds from the concert will go to relief efforts in China and Burma (Myanmar). Tickets are available at The Freckled Lion Bookstore, 56 Main St. S., or at St. Johns United Church.
