There will be music and entertain- ment all around. Instead of one main stage like in pre- vious years, musi- cians and entertain- ers will be perform- ing at street level on the edge of down- towns many alley- ways. The entertain- ment kicks off at 8 a.m. with Rukanas Peruvian Band play- ing for the crowd at the farmers market. Other performers include George Grosmans Bohemian Swing, the Lorne Scots Association Band, Ablett & Cooper, Random Roads, Sandys Stompers Dixieland Band, Second Wind, and musical theatre group Ensemble Kids. Matthews says she is most excited for the return of Tribal Thunder, a group of drummers who perform and teach the audience to drum. They were here last year and they were drawn back by our energy, Matthews says. In addition to live music, this years festival will also feature face painting, magicians, clowns, yoga for kids, stilt walkers and a dunk tank. You can dunk whoever you want, Matthews say. You can dunk your favourite friend or your not-so-favour- ite friend. Downtown busi- nesses are joining in the festivities, host- ing special sales, clinics and food samplings. The fes- tival will also fea- ture displays from local artists and artisans. Theres a focus on local artists this year, Matthews says. Were trying something new. Its a new look and a new edge. The Festival on Main is Saturday June 21 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Main Street will be closed to vehicular traffic during this time. The Downtown Georgetown Farmers Market takes over Main Street on Saturday mornings from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. until October 11. Plenty of fun is planned for annual downtown bash Continued from pg. 12 Edgy artists will show their talents at Saturdays Festival on Main.
