First Ever Walk Raises $35,000 The first annual Walk for Georgetown Hospital was held on Sunday, June 22nd. More than 180 people formed teams and followed a 5 km route through Georgetown. All told, $35,000 was raised for medical equipment the hospital needs this year. Fortunately, the weather cooperated and a fun-filled lunch and awards presentation complete with clowns and magician took place following the walk. Many thanks to everyone who walked, and to each of the hundreds of sponsors who contributed to the success of this event. Support the Volunteer Association The Georgetown Hospital Volunteer Association recently received a bequest of Royal Stafford, Tartan Series China. The china was collected by a great-grandmother of one of our Hospital volunteers and is in beautiful condition. This exquisite china would make a lovely gift to those who collect the patterns included in this series. Georgetown Hospital Parking Fees Parking fees collected by the Hospital cover the cost of providing, maintaining and administering the parking facilities. Any revenue collected beyond these expenses will be used to support local Hospital programs and services. These rates are reviewed annually. Effective July 1, 2008 the parking fee at Georgetown Hospital will be a flat rate of $7.00 per visit. 2008/2009 Halton Healthcare Services Board of Directors The Board of Directors of Halton Healthcare Services (HHS) provides advice and support to management to ensure that Halton Healthcare fulfils its mission of providing quality, compassionate care and services to meet the diverse needs of our population in a timely and effective manner. Their efforts help ensure the continuation of quality healthcare services to the residents of our communities now and into the future. The Board of Directors of Halton Healthcare Services (HHS) is comprised of 11 elected members from the communities of Oakville, Milton and Halton Hills. In addition, there are eight ex-officio members including the President of the Corporation, and appointments from the medical staff and the Towns of Milton, Oakville and Halton Hills.
