The Hawks also qualified for the recent NSA A Girls Fastpitch World Series in Columbus, Ohio, winning its first three games before bowing out after losses to teams from Indiana and Illinois, finishing in a tie for 33rd in the 97-team tourney. Submitted photo The Halton Hills novice Hawks will be in Montreal next week to play in the Canadian Peewee Girls Fastpitch Championships along with 11 other teams from B.C., Quebec, New Brunswick and Ontario. Halton Hills is ranked second in Canada after finishing runner-up to the Guelph Gators at the recent Ontario championships in Guelph, in which the local side beat the defending provincial champs from Oakville to make the final. The novice Hawks also captured tournament titles in Whitby and Barrie this summer playing against 15- and 16-year-olds in the bantam age groups.
