Acton/Georgetown, Friday, August 8, 2008 7 Nicky Pearson, above left, com- forts Jessica DaSilva-Medeiros the sister of Tim DaSilva at a floral memorial for her brother, who was killed while constructing a BMX track at Halton Place in 2006. Fellow BMX racer Sterling Evans, 14, joined the pair Tuesday as the track was levelled (right). The BMX track was taken down in accor- dance with a restoration order from the Niagara Escarpment Commission (NEC). The NEC ordered the track, which is not a permitted use on the property and was built without a permit, be lev- eled and restored to its original state. The owner of Halton Place has filed a Niagara Escarpment Plan Amendment to allow for a BMX track on the property and if granted approval, hope to rebuild. Photos by Graham Paine Tears at track
