Attends Ontario Municipal Board hearings and other hearings conducted under Provincial legislation on behalf of the Town and provides oral and written evidence and defends the same under cross-examination. QUALIFICATIONS: University Degree in Urban and Regional Planning; Eight years experience in the land use planning field, preferably in a municipal environment and project management experience. Membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners and OPPI as a Registered Professional Planner (RPP); In-depth knowledge of Provincial, Regional and Conservation Authority planning, growth management, heritage conservation, environmental and housing legislation. Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills; Excellent research skills, dispute resolution and negotiation skills. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with statistical analysis and database development. GIS and mapping skills a definite asset. SALARY RANGE: The salary range for this full time position is $60,953 to $72,564 per annum. This Town Workshop is separate from the Regions Public Information Centre on September 16th, 2008. The Region of Halton is requesting comments from the Town on the five Growth Concepts in general and more specifically in the context of seven questions by the end of September in order to establish a short list of two or three growth options for further consideration. The Town Public Information Centre and Facilitated Workshop is being held to obtain public input and assist Council in developing a response on the Growth Concepts.
