Assisting seniors and people with disabili- t ies is one of their core mandates. Links2Care can arrange home help and maintenance, friendly visits and Meals on Wheels, among other services, which help people l ive independently in their own homes for longer than they otherwise would. The Ontario Early Years Centres provide help to parents and younger children, ensur- ing they grow up and achieve their full potential. Launched in the late 1990s by my friend and former legislative colleague, Margaret Marland, our Early Years programs continue to be important investments in our societys future. Links2Care delivers Early Years programming in Acton and Georgetown. These are but a few examples of Links2Cares links to our community. I had the chance to meet some of this agencys dedicated staff in Georgetown on August 18. I came away very impressed with their enthusiasm and commitment. On Sunday August 10, Actons heritage and community spirit were on display at this years Leathertown Festival. I was glad to be able to attend and participate. I want to express my appreciation to Josey Bonnette and the Leathertown committee members, as well a l l the sponsors who helped to make the Festival such a great suc- cess. Thank you! Well forever remember the summer of 08 for its wet weather and good times. Now that schools back, we look forward to our Fall Fairs in Georgetown and Acton and across Wellington-Halton Hills. Hope to see you at one of the fairs. The Ontario Legislature is scheduled to resume sitting on September 22.
