Community Calendar Local art group, Innerscapes, will display their work in the show Kaleidoscope on Saturday and Sunday, September 13 and 14 at their gallery, 13261 Tenth Line north of Glen Williams. Kaleidoscope is a representation of the groups working process. The kaleidoscope contains a fixed set of coloured pieces, which are rearranged in an infinite array of images. This is analogous to the painter with a fixed set of pigments. The artist works to arrange the colours and shapes to suit the concept of the art work. This idea can be seen most vivid- ly when the artist works in a series, pushing ever deeper in one direc- tion. A series is but one of many approaches used to develop a con- cept in the never-ending endeavour of exploration in search of the real meaning of art. The Innerscapes employ the three horsemen of painting, work- ing in the studio from life (still life and the figure), in nature from life (plein air), and in the studio from the innerself (exploring emotions, memories, ideas). Join the Innerscapes Beatrice Dumbreck, Herta Hajek, Tizianna Manierka, George Perdue, Eileen Simpson, and Jan Zimmerman from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. at their gallery and watch them painting on site. Just call if you need directions 905-873-2178. Innerscapes host open house weekend
