Volunteer tutors are needed to support our Read* Spell* Write program for adults in the Georgetown and Acton communities. Would you like to make a difference? The special double-sized choco- late chip cookies have double the meaning because all proceeds from the cookie sales will go towards St. John Ambulance. St. John Ambulance medical first responders are well- trained and well-equipped volunteers whom are at countless public events to provide basic and advanced care when emergencies occur. By being there, St. John volunteer medical first responders are first on the scene and the first to respond in the critical minutes until medical assistance arrives. We are thrilled to support St. John Ambulance, says Mary Walker, Tim Hortons store owner. The Smile Cookie program is a combined community effort because its our customers who come in to buy the cook- ies and help us raise funds to support this worthy cause. We are delighted that our local Tim Hortons has chosen St. John Ambulance to be the recipient of the proceeds from their Smile Cookie campaign, says Tim Bauer, branch manager for St. John Ambulance. The proceeds will be used towards the purchase of a new mobile first aid post (ambulance) for the Georgetown community.
