SAVE UP TO $200.00 WHEN PURCHASING SET NO PST ON WASHER Home, Lawn and Energy, Wednesday, October 3, 2007 3 Asbuilt ClimateCare of Georgetown was so inspired by scientist David Suzukis chal- lenge to reduce energy consumption, it decided not only to more heavily promote energy conservation products and pro- grams for its clients, but more stringently follow the same initiatives internally. David Suzukis challenge to replace all incandescent light bulbs with compact flu- orescent bulbs gave us a great idea for a promotional program for our clients, said owner Keith Vaters. Why not offer our customers three free bulbs, installed for them, as part of our preventative mainte- nance program? It all started with an office recycling program, where we sorted and recycled our office and job materials, and developed into in-house changes, such as upgrading our truck fleet to more efficient vehicles, upgrading our computers, and conserving lighting and office equipment usage, said Vaters. I may have started the initiative, but Im proud to say my team was totally on board, doing everything in their power to make it happen. Asbuilt is committed to sharing ideas on how to reduce energy consumption with its clients. How does one not only reduce energy but save on fuel costs? Install a pro- grammable thermostat. Every degree in temperature that you set back is a 1 per cent savings on your fuel costs. For example, a seven degree setback at night will save you 7 per cent on your heating fuel costs. Also, by regularly main- taining your heating and cooling equip- ment, you can have peace of mind, know- ing your equipment is safely maintained and you can save you up to 10 per cent of your fuel costs each year. Replacing older equipment with high efficient units will not only save you money in terms of lower energy usage, but there are large government incentives in place to help you offset the costs. There has never been a better time to upgrade your heating and cooling equip- ment, said Vaters. The government grants available right now are the highest we have ever seen in the marketplace. Asbuilt also offers free energy-saving bonuses on all new preventative mainte- nance plans sold, one of which is made possible through a partnership with Union Gas. As mentioned, with all new preventa- tive maintenance plans sold, Asbuilt will give you three compact fluorescent bulbs free with each new plan. If you have any difficulties with replacing bulbs outside, well install them for you, at no cost. Energy savings kits are also available free (a $35 value) with each new plan sold. Union Gas is supplying the energy savings kits, which contain a low flow showerhead, faucet aerator and pipe wrap. These com- ponents will reduce the amount of water used for showers and taps by 50 per cent and the heat loss of standing water when installed on your hot water pipe by about 2 per cent. Until Dec. 10, 2007, Union Gas also pro- vides a rebate of $15 on any Union Gas cus- tomers heating bill if the customer installs a programmable thermostat. In addition to this, Ontario Power Authority will provide a rebate of $50 to any customer who has a programmable thermostat installed by Dec. 31, 2007. Asbuilts promotion for its energy sav- ings bonuses, combined with new preventa- tive maintenance plans sold began Sept. 26. For details call Asbuilt at 905-877-8023.
