The demand for technical people is growing three times faster than all other occupations, while enrolment in science, math and engineer- ing courses continues to decline. To address this crisis, NASA (United States National Aeronautical Space Agency) and Honeywell have developed FMA Live!, an education program that uses live performers, music, videos and interac- tive scientific demonstrations to teach students about Newtons Laws of Motion and the Universal Law of Gravity. These topics have been identified by the American National Science Education Standards as key learning objectives for students in Grades 5-8. Named for Sir Isaac Newtons Second Law (Force = Mass x Acceleration), FMA Live! is designed to inspire students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math. Interactive science demos include a Velcro wall, hover chair, extreme wrestling, dragster cars and rocket launchers. Other show highlights include original music and dance moves by pro- fessional actors and music videos and rockumen- tary abot the life and work of Sir Isaac Newton. Centennial Middle School students will also be attending one of the two 45-minute morning shows. Honeywell funds the entire cost of the perfor- mances.
