Sometime late Monday or early Tuesday graffiti was spray-painted with blue paint on the side of Halton Hills Sewing Machine and Vacuum Services on Mill St., on a wall and dumpster at McGibbon Hotel on Main St. and on the side of the Guardian Drugs building, also on Main St. The initials BH and JBC were included in the graffiti. The next night, after cleaning up one mess, Halton Hills Sewing Machine and Vacuum Services was hit again, this time with yellow paint, as was Kentners Social Catering on Mill St. Police say included in that graffiti were the words J. Block Crew. In total it cost about $450 to clean up the graffiti. Halton Regional Police Det. Sgt. Murray Drinkwalter said such incidents show a total lack of disrespect for private and public prop- erty. Drinkwalter said anyone found responsible could face criminal charges of mischief to property. These incidents are becoming more prevalent and we do take these things seri- ously, said Drinkwalter. Halton Police have charged a Georgetown woman in connection with an assault in which a woman was slapped, pushed and kicked in the stomach while at the Cedarvale leash-free dog park last week. Police report after a story on the Sept. 25. incident appeared in The Independent & Free Press the suspect turned herself into police. Charged with assault is Nancy May Snyder, 37, of Raylawn Cr. She is to appear in Milton court on Oct. 31. A $60,000 loader was found partly sub- merged in about nine feet of water in Fairy Lake after it was stolen from a construction site at Church and Main Sts. and Acton some- time late Monday. Police found the 1999 Caterpillar loader in the lake at about 5:10 a.m. Tuesday. Police report an area resident saw the loader being driven by three males at about 11:50 p.m. Monday in the Dublin Line and Mill St. area. When the three males realized they were being followed by the resident they aban- doned the machine, and fled. Police were called, but when they arrived the loader was gone. They returned early the next morning and found tracks leading through a cornfield and the loader in the west side of the lake. All three of the suspects are described as white males, in their late teens to early 20s, with average builds. One is described as 58 to 6 ft., possibly with a shaved head, and wearing a white hooded sweatshirt with dark pants. The other suspect is 58 to 6 ft. wearing dark pants and the third male is noticeably shorter than the other two and was wearing dark pants.
