To get to the point, I have been reas- signed to the position of Acton Village Constable. This is an exciting new ven- ture for me that offers many new aspects of policing. Ill be responsible for a new Acton 10 Division, residential and busi- ness security and crime prevention, as well as an assigned foot beat patrol zone. But enough about me, Id like to take up the bulk of my last article to introduce Community Support Constable Maureen Andrew. Constable Andrew started her policing career with Toronto Police Services, spending nine years in the Jane and Finch area and specializing in the Traffic Unit. She also was a physical education teacher in Saudi Arabia for five years and has a lso taught Engl ish as a Second Language. Constable Andrew brought her exper- tise as a qualified breath technician to the Halton Regional Police Service, and then further obtained designations as a scenes of crime officer, initial investigator of sexual assaults, and general investigative training. She is also eagerly looking forward to her tra ining in Crime Prevent ion Through Environmental Design. Constable Andrew has experienced most aspects of policing and has a gen- uine interest in those issues that affect the community as a whole. Please keep an eye out for Constable Maureen Andrew to continue the column in the upcoming weeks, and thank you for your attention to my articles over the last few years. You may contact Const . Maureen Andrew at 1DistCommunitySupport- @hrps.on.ca, or 905-878-5511 ext. 2470. Please reserve the 911 system for emer- gencies. Const.
