We Wish You a Merry Christmas is the theme of this years annual Christmas concert performed by The Georgetown Childrens Chorus (GCC) on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at 12:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. The Chorus, directed by A. Dale Wood, will perform two concerts at the Georgetown Christian Reformed Church on Trafalgar Road. Local children and teens ranging from ages 5-19 will entertain audiences with choral arrangements and songs that are both spiritual and traditional. GCC is comprised of five choirs, Cherubs (ages 5-6), Juniors (ages 7-8) Intermediates (ages 9-11) and Seniors (ages 12-19). The GCC Performance Choir is made up of members from the Intermediate and Senior choirs and they will also perform. Singing now for sixteen seasons, the GCC Christmas concert has become a tradition within our community. It now has approximately 150 members who perform two to three major concerts a year as well as participating in many community events. Recently, the choir sang with The Georgetown Choral Society at the Remembrance Day Service, another community tradition. In March 2008, the Choir will perform again for the community with their concert at the John Elliot Theatre in Georgetown. Mark your calendars and be sure to attend this festive event. Tickets are $12.00 for Adults and $7.00 for children and can be purchased at The Freckled Lion, Bergsmas and Alexandres in Georgetown South. For more information, please call 905-877-6841.
