Police report at about 8 p.m. a man asked the female clerk if he could see a one-carat princess cut diamond engagement ring. The clerk took the ring out of the case, gave it to him, and he ran out of the store with it. He is described as a scruffy white male, about 57 and 160 lbs. He had brown eyes, two crooked front teeth, and yellow stained fingers. He was wear- ing a baggy, grey sweatshirt and faded blue jeans.
