Any questions call Amy 905-873-0301 ext. 237 GDHS art and craft show attracts over 100 vendors Georgetowns own version of a one-of-a-kind Art & Craft show a community tradition for 21 years runs this weekend. The GDHS Art & Craft Sale is a two-day show, Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $4 for adults including a free raffle ticket. Children under 12 years get in free. The popularity of this event draws vendors from many areas, such as Ancaster, Rockwood, Welland, Toronto, Oak- ville, Kitchener, Hunts- ville, Dundas, Carlisle, Cobalt, Orangeville and Baden so there is always something new to see. Among the more than 100 vendors will be local watercolourist Susan Little and Karen Pogson, another local talented artisan who sells her hand painted items all over the world. Gail Dell will be selling her popular home dr items. Linda Kreitner will be selling handpainted mailboxes. Paul Vuurman will be sell- ing his unique bird houses. Also, look for many new artisans Marie Ferri will be selling hand-knit sweaters, Christmas stockings and costume dolls. Victoria Kovaleva will be selling her unique ceramic art items. Gordon Smallwood, a GDHS alumnus, is returning from Napanee to sell his nature photo art. So whether you are looking for chocolates or shortbreads, jewellery, woodcrafts or stained glass, this sale has something for everyones tastes! The weekend event will also include 50/50 draw and raffle. Raffle prizes include a muskoka chair, creat- ed at GDHS, an oil painting created by one of our returning vendors, a beautiful glass hurricane candle created by Karen Pogson and a gift item donated by Gena Allan (The Littliest Chef). The GDHS Foods class will be baking muffins and preparing salads to feed vendors and visitors. Kings Pizza will be supplying pizza and the GDHS Senior Boys Basketball team will be available to barbecue hot dogs and hamburgers. The GDHS Art and Craft Show is a major fundraiser for GDHS. Last year funds raised enabled the pur- chase of such items as data projectors, a laser printer, fitness testing equip- ment, heart rate monitors, a portable sound system and other equipment needed by the various departments.
