Anyone interested in modelling or acting can meet Jarosz tomorrow (Saturday), 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., in the Halton Hills Cultural Centre and Library meeting room. This is a free event open to males and females ages infants to adult. Toronto has a large television and commercial print client base, as well as modelling, so, I would like to meet people of all shapes, sizes and ages, Jarosz said in a press release. During her 20-year career as an agent, Jarosz worked with such big names as Carrie Anne Moss, star of Matrix trilogy, supermodel Linda Evagelista, soap stars Tonya Lee Williams, Marie Wilson and Real Andrews, The O.C. star Kelly Rowan. Anyone that is interested in modelling or television, is invited to come and speak to me, said Jarosz. I will tell them honestly about the potential and the next steps. What agents they should see etc. So, no, I do not recruit, I give them informa- tion and introduce them to the prop- er agent for the individual. Saturdays preliminary is geared towards informing parents and chil- dren of potential opportunities and will be followed by meetings with the appropriate agent. Jarosz places her models and tal- ent with the top agents and arranges introduction to photographers and clients. Jarosz is a former model agent who scouts for various agents in Toronto. She recently worked with Boot Camp to Big Time for high fashion models, which was featured in an eight-part series on Fashion File. Halton calls on high school students to get creative and help raise awareness about affordable housing in the second annual Be a Hero. Be a Voice for Affordable Housing contest. The contest is open to stu- dents in Grades 9-12. Students are invited to develop an entry using their choice of format, such as video, song, or poetry that best captures why Halton needs more affordable housing. Prizes will be awarded includ- ing a $1,000 Grand Prize. Submissions for the contest are due by 5 p.m. on October 31, 2008.
