Norrie, Hyde marry in June

Loreen Mildred Hyde and Stephen George Norrie were married inNorval United Church on June 29.

Laurie Hyde is employed as a secretary at Wright Instruments Ltd., in Malton. She is the daughter of William and Margaret Hyde of 24 Normandy Blvd., Georgetown. Steve Norrie, son of Bruce and Nancy Norrie of R.R. 1, Wasaga Beach, is employed at Anthes Business Forms in Mimico as a compositor. He lived at 431 Delrex Blvd. in Georgetown. His parents were previous Georgetown residents.

Rev. Walter Ridley officiated at the double-rig ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Crimes sang Wedding Prayer and A Time For Us during the signing of the register while Mrs. Margaret Ridley played the organ.

The bride's gown was designed and made by Mrs. Audrey Scott. The style was empire with a bodice of satin ribbon on net, the skirt was of polyester satin. She wore a juliet cap, an elbow length veil and carried pink roses and a mauve orchid.

The maid of honor was Cathy Hoare of Georgetown, and bridesmaids included the bride's cousin, Patty Lafontaine, from North Bay, Nancy Forest, the bride's cousin, also of North Bay, Brenda Hyde, the bride's sister, was the junior bridesmaid and the flower girl was Bobbi Hyde, a cousin of the bride from Geeorgetown.

All the attendants wore empire style gowns with sheer over blue underlay, except the flower girl and maid of honor, who wore mauve underlay. They wore white picture hats and carried baskets of mums and daisies dyed to match the dresses.

The parents of the bride and groom gave their childen in marriage to each other.

Steve Mariani of Georgetown was the best man while users included Ken Sproule of Georgetown, the bride's brother Kevin Hyde and Rob Norrie, the groom's brother from Wasaga Beach.

A dinner and dance followed the ceremony, Emcee was T. J. Maxwell from Kingston, the bride's uncle. The toast to the bride was made by Fred Forrest, of North Bay, another uncle of the bride.

The bride's mother received in a blue polyester, boucle crimplene evening gown with matching jacket. The groom's mother wore a pink crimplene gown. The mothers-in-law wore duble cymbidium orchids tinted to match the gowns.

The couple spent a week in Niagara Falls for their honeymoon the bride's going away outfit was a long yellow and white sleeveless gown with a matching jacket.

The wedding cake was made by the bride's grandmother. Hazel Hyde and decorated by Mrs. Lounds. The bridal couple was honored by the presence of seven grandparents at the marriage; the groom's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Norrie of Georgetown, and Mr. and Mrs. Abe Hilgartner of Brampton, the bride's grandparents Mr. and Mrs. William J. Hyde of Georgetown and Mrs. Isobella Maxwell of North Bay. Also in attendance was Syd Hunt of Georgetown who is 85 years young.

Three showers held by Donna Reynolds and Debby Dicks, Heather Hyde, Debbie Peavoy, and Vivian Lunquist and Muriel Pierce. The couple is living at 4 Byron St., in Georgetown.
