chairman Peter Marks and member Art Gordon In which Mr Gordon charged the sponsors of the porta mens show had never asked for use of the arena Saturday night He also objected to use of the arena by the clubs for a nominal sum We can t operate the arena free he told the Board The Board later voted to charge for use of the arena Saturday but went along with five per cent of the gate for the Sunday show Mr Marks said the Idea was to let the Joint service clubs make some money which they would pump back into the community and assure an annual show for the Labor Day weekend He admitted perhaps Parks Board did not all the Information on the show available but at trlbuted It to oversight Mr Gordon Insisted any dance must be cut off at 11 to which tho chairman facetiously remarked he had seen manager Harold that he had received a permit In the mall the previous day Mr Gordon deplored tho take for granted attitude of the show sponsors charging there was no excuse for oversights like a formal request for the arena They went ahead and made arrangements permit and all without asking us ho said my weather The chairman took exception to Inference that organizers had gone behind the
