Roc By Bob Mac Arthur This past week has seen the start of another draw for the high school league There will be standings published from time to time as the schedule progresses Did you see the finals of the brier Saturday Personally I missed the showing but from reports It was a good game Northern Ontario could have wrapped up the whole thing Friday night but the pressure was too great and they lost This necessitated a playoff Saturday Duguids rink from Manitoba proved to have had more experience and scoring ability They will represent Canada at the world playoffs In France later in the month In checking scores this past week It was found that a number of vice skips have failed to post the scores of games It Is the duty of all vice skips to see game scores are posted even if you have lost The schedules are running their course and there are not too many games left before playoffs Better be pasting those wins if you wont to be in the playoffs Thenowclubplnshave arrived and they are beauties They are available at the club and every member will want to pin one on bonnet or sweater This weekend I took the time to convert the scoring in the various draws to conform with the local club rules This is two points for a win and one point for a tie So if your scores are a lot lower than previously that the reason Saturday was the Ma and Pa bonsplel at the club Don t think I ever ran Into a bunch of curlers who enjoyed themselves more or created more good fun for the spectators More of this kind of curling will soon have a number of nonmembers Joining the club to be in on the fun Watching games last Saturday the Ice seems to have Improved quite a lot from some weeks back But then both teams of a game have to play on the same ice so it can t be any fairer for one team than another Ho ro are Hie at the weekend MONDAY MIXED S J A Dubois Milnprlie loll M Jordan Tyler A Robinson Manes A McKenrfo R RoiMll IS Armstrong Williams The Free Wednesdiy March Legion 4town midgets
