Mrs John Janscn who gave me a lovely time I hope will return in the near future Mrs M Irvine Donegal Ave Belfast OHC housing Dear Sir The recent completion of OHC Housing in Aclon Is Indeed very welcome to oil who need accommodation at reasonable rents However I would question the allocation of these units It would that although you moy have applied to the OHC four years ago for one of these houses when It comes to allocations there although your application has been on file all the time you dont even though you have a family get any degree of priority What is the basis of qualification or is it once again a question of not who you are or who you know Nobody who has a staff job surely needs public housing as usually salaries of these people are sufficient to buy your own home People who arc being supported by government funds already shouldnt be subsidized for accommodation or at least have any priority Does the man who lias been on their books for four years deserve some kind of priority whenever it would appear that people who only applied a couple of months ago got accommodation It must be very to live In town for 13 years and put much into the community I find that In spite of being on for four years you didnt even gel a chance to hove your own home I tor properties but It would seem that some people are getting undue preference where the undue preference where these properties are concerned lt it be certain that people who really need accommodation get these houses taking all factors such as length of application size of and background truly Andrew Welch Recycling advice ft No 2Hockwood Dear Sir II Is wonderful to see the I ladle put the shoulder to the wheel with their recycling program Were not all WI groups founded to take action in the community A nationwide program and they boast to be worldwide by an already existing organization could be a tremendous success Also in attracting new members We have set up the required extra boxes although tills household recycling Is being done mostly on the premises Moms classified garbage has been source of good amusement for quite some time now Surely sensible down to earth country folk dont throw away what they know they are going to be needing So Its old hat lo them But those of us who moved away from the rat race to let roots down again have to learn or remember From my new found experience
