they don expect it to last though This week it recipes again To begin with a marvelous molasses cookie My brother Ian brought me a big Jar of crude molasses and while the recipe called for the light kind I used the dark very good results SOFTIES Cream cup margarine Add 1 cup sugar l cup molasses 1 slightly beaten egg and mix well Sift cups flour tap baking soda 4 salt 4 cloves I 1 cinnamon ginger Add to first mixture and mix well Chill or don t if you lack the time Form Into 1 inch balls and roll in white sugar Place on greased baking sheet Inches apart and bake at degrees for to 10 minutes Cookies should be soft when taken from the oven but will harden if left on cookie sheet for a few minutes I don especially mind cooked tongue It Just the thought of it that throws me so I ve had one sitting in the freezer for quite some time Two as a matter of fact one beef and one pork Anyhow things arc looking a little thin down the bottom of that freezer so I hauled them out a new and very simple recipe and was quite pleased with the results But I still don like the thought FRESH TONGUE Wash tongue place on rack In pressure cooker Add cups water 1 salt bay leave reallv with It I have a lovely goose recipe for Christmas or New Year dinner ROAST GOOSE Wash and dry a or pound goose Rub cavity with 1 tsp salt mixed with 1 marjoram Prepare stuffing below and stuff body and neck cavities Skewer shut Roast in open roaster breast side down at 32 degrees with inch hot water in pan After one hour turn goose and prick skin with fork to allow fat to drain off Drain all but small amount from pan with bastcr Roast 14 hours then drain again and rub goose with lemon Roast 14 to hours longer or until tender GRAVY Wash wing tips neck and giblets Simmer in cups water and l salt for hours or until tender Strain reserving liquid Take cup goose fat from roaster and mix with cup flour until smooth Add cups reserved liquid gradually Cook until thickened and smooth Add tsp salt 18 tsp pepper and cup red currant Jelly whole black peppers whole Slice goose liver add Reheat cloves onion quartered Cover and cook minutes at pounds pressure Cool cooker strain liquid and remove from tongue Replace meat in liquid until ready to serve to keep warm NOTE If you haven t a pressure APPLE RAISIN STUFFING Place cup raisins in bowl and add boiling water to cover Let stand 10 minutes Drain and pat dry Mix cups soft bread crumbs 2cupschoppedapple cooker this may be done the cup minced onion grated ordinary way by simmering for lemon and raisins Sprinkle hours with I salt and poultry willing to support this worthy cause The prize winning ticket was to be drawn at the fall dance Oct Raise The account for the Flowers of Hope campaign has been closed with the final figure standing at 02 A cheque for this amount will be taken to the executive meeting at A in Hornby by Mrs J and amount will be used to reduce the deficit owing on the new extension The money collected from Georgetown and Milton will also be added to this fund The open house held Sept was well attended and It was nice to see so many familiar faces from Acton M P P Jim Snow officially cut the ribbon with one of the trainees assisting Bright surroundings The mayors of Georgetown and Milton attended and also George Lee in his capacity as chairman of the Acton Library Board It was joy to see trainees working in these bright airy surroundings It is in the lower portion of the workshop that the Tinkerbcll nursery will function thus providing another well needed service for the mentally retarded In this area Mrs J be in charge of the nursery There will be Ideally one volunteer per child with classes in operation Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 1130 am Anyone wishing to volunteer their help or knowing the 4H was held in the hall on Saturday October Many of the girls have chosen article to make and well on with It The topics for this meeting included How to keep Physically Fit with tips on the care
