Churchill Church It will be held In the basement of the Church for old and young and come dressed In costume Prizes for best costumes games and contests Ladles please provide lunch for all Church service on Sunday 11 am in Churchill Community Church with the Sunday School as usual Prospectors class Last Sunday church service was very well attended Rev opened the service and Introduced members of the Prospectors Class of the former Prospect United Church In Toronto where Rev and Mrs Fosbury served and spent five very happy years together Mr Norman Moyles was in charge of the service assisted by Mr John Masters Mr Morley and Mr Dennis Two solos were much enjoyed The Stranger of Galilee and Steal Away Home with our organist Mrs D Anderson at the organ Other guests also took part At the close the service the ladles of the church served a pot luck luncheon to all In the Sunday school room where everyone enjoyed an hour of fellowship together This is the third time this group have visited us and we appreciate their friendship and interest in our little church Two car loads of the friends drove on toGuelph before leaving for home to visit with Mrs who has been a patient In General Hospital for over I meet The Churchill Community Church Women held their Oc tober l the home of our president Mrs Wallace Swackhamer She opened the meeting calling on Mrs William Thompson who gave the devotions Two hymns were sung with Mrs Thompson at the piano Some business was dealt with The minutes were read and accepted A lovely lunch was served by our hostess Mrs Thompson thanked all who took part Anniversary party A dinner party and later a surprise party at their home In honor of Mr and Mrs Clarence Denny on the occasion of their wedding anniversary on Saturday evening October 21 were given by their three children Vern Ray and Joyce The guests were from Guelph Bcamsville Georgetown Rock wood and Acton The wedding cake was made by Mrs Charles Perry and decorated by Miss Mary Lou Brown A set of luggage from the friends a silver candelabrum from the children and other lovely gifts were received with the very best wishes from all A supper was served at the close of a very happy evening Miss Erica Strokov who is attending University was home for the weekend Friends in this district will be pleased to hear Mrs Evelyn Near is recovering nicely after surgery in General Hospital City event Mrs J McDonald attended a dinner at the Holiday Inn on Elisabeth Street Toronto to celebrate the Chartered Dinner and Graduation Ball of the Society of Trained Practical nurses Incorporated on Saturday evening October and Mrs and daughter visited with her parents Rev Fosbury and Mrs Fosbury who Is still In Guelph hospital having more tests We do hope she soon will be able to return home feeling better Visitors with Mr and Mrs Bob Kerr were Mr and Mrs Boyd Mr and Mrs Ernie McEnery wish to thank all who helped with the paper ragandscrapmetal drive Thanking you again Local
