day moving vans will transfer the library and visual arts department from the existing Church St Cam pus to the new campus Everything else lectin applied arts and bus and secretarial studies- will be transported to the new facilities during the following week The week of Dec will be spent setting up class rooms and studios in preparation for the beginning of classes Jan Finished or not Sheridan College vice- president Wray said the move will go ahead as planned whether or not con is complete We are committed irrevo cably to begin moving Dec and to have classes start Jan he said We II be there even If we have dodge painters and carpenters The move will climax three years of design and construe tlon since the million first phase was approved by the Ministry of Colleges and Universities During that time dan College Board of Gover nors haB worked closely with Toronto architects Brook Carruthers Shaw and Torontobased Ltd the general contractor to come up with a campus con sistenl with the colleges educational philosophy Four structure The new campus located about one mile south of the existing one Is a cluster of four separate structures linked by ah arterial con course which forms the core or spine of the college The interior contains some courts mezzanines open teaching areas technology labs visual arts studios and general classrooms Student services such as cafeteria health centre bookstore and student run dining room are also included along with staff and student lounges administration centre management development area language development centre and test areas An important feature of the new campus will be the multi purpose sports complex housing a gymnasium squash courts and a student lounge The concrete floor is now being poured in this area and heating and electrical work installed for completion by the end of January with more than l dents expected in 1977 78 Board of Education announced the hiring a new administrative assistant to help Superintendent
