outing Winter Camp Everyone says iou have got to be kidding who d want to sleep in the snow But it is a valuable lesson In survival with the elements It s good fun and also it is part of the requirements for the Winter Camping Badge started planning and studying for this several weeks ago To be eligible to go we had lo pass a written test and then help plan the menus On Feb we met at Glen Jackson farm We then proceeded lo set up camp That when the fun began Some picked a nice sheet of ice for their tent while others preferred a ft snow drift Either way the results were interesting Then firewood had to be cut for the night Finally what we were all waiting for supper was served an enormous pot of stew After the dishes were washed we went snow mobilulg and grinding We finished the day off with a quick snack around the and crawled into our nice warm sleeping bags to sleep In the morning we were greeted a sheet of ice covering the tents and every thing else Alter a hearty breakfast alt attended a special service at the church In Due to the pouring rain we broke camp early and returned to the house for lunch Fourteen scouts and four leaders took part in this camping trip Dedication A dedication ceremony at Knox Presbyterian Church last Sunday attracted many worshippers to the service conducted by George Lewis Thetst Scout and Cub Packs with their leaders attended when the Wolf Head and neckerchiefs were dedicated in memory of the late Allen one of the organizers of the Ospnnge tubs The Wolf Head which is the symbol of the Scout Troop was ordered and sent from
