and Thursday Director and staff advisor Geoff feels the plays is one of many moods It is both funny and dramatic with the mood changing through out the performance The group earlier did a per called The Mad Show Mr Sansom feels in some areas this play required more from the earlier performance This Is not a comedy they can ham up it required serious acting In this play It Is Important that the actors feel the part Tickets are available at the door or from cast members Doors open at curtain goes up at NANCY PATTERSON and Simon play out a scene in the high school performance of David and Lisa This is the second performance this school year by the drama club The Mad Show was performed in November Acton Free Press Wednesday June 7 Required credits are reduced for graduates Acton high students will only have to take rather than the present 3a credits to receive a secondary school graduation diploma begin in September The school is switching to minute classes a minimum of seven rather than eight credits taken per year Under the new system there will be five periods In the day four class periods and one lunch Periods are currently minutes long High school principal Dean Fink feels there are both advantages and dis advantages to the new system One of the main JESSICA left and AlilSOn Moore advantages concerns a grow rehearse their part in the drama club play David problem every fall in the and Lisa The group has been working on the school the number of junior performance since for the last seven or eght new system cuts down the amount of free time available in the day New grade nine students have been en to take eight four in each The new system also makes It possible for a good student to finish high school earlier The other advantage Is the school Is on the same system as others In the province and for students who transfer to another school the credit value will be the same Problems with the new system include an adjust for students and teachers to a Instead of a 60 minute period Students will not have as many courses a year since they arc spending longer in the ones they do choose This limits the variety of subjects students can take for general interest Mr Fink feels the extra time In each class can be used to the advantage of both the fast and slow learners For those who grasp things quickly the extra time can be used to get into more depth and enriching material For those slower learners more individual attention and time can be given weeks Sheridan graduation On June and Sheridan College will hold lis tenth annuo convocation exer cises
