The Acton F Press Wednesday Sept 27 Craft Show successful by was a perfect fait day for the annual Eden Mills Craft Show The sun sparkled and reflected the colorful autumn Images on pine window frame mirrors just one of the items available at the newly decorated Community Centre Seated In backed rocking chair surrounded by a display of heirloom village quilts Mrs R Markell invited visitors to sign the guest book Thi crowds buzzed around the craft laden tables Area artisans Here in action weaving spinning lacing leather and china painting Knitting needles clicked and nimble fingers stitched soft quilts and needle point The Craft Club held their first meeting of the season on Tuesday with the new pre sident Mrs Eva Mciren in charge Some of the lessons that will be given are crochet nig rug hooking quilting and pottery The meetings are held each Tuesday from to 30 m and new comers ore most welcome to come and join The Friendly Seniors held a meeting on Wednesday in their club room with members present After a short meeting euchre played and a social half hour The president Anna Wilson was unable to be present as she is nursing a sore leg at present All wish her a speedy recovery Friends will be glad to know that Mrs Kay Stevenson is progressing nicely now in hospital Mrs Eric Locked has been visiting her daughter and family Mr and Mrs Richard Mills Stuart and Scott of Milton A recent guest of Else Leo and Chris Schulte Renate from tingen West Germany I the hometown of Else Mr and Mrs Lalng of Sundrldge were the weekend guests of Mr and Mrs Fred Mrs George Fleck of Glasgow called in to bid fare well to Mrs J and W Gilbertson before her return trip home to Scotland Saturday was a gorgeous fall day for the annual Craft Club show and it was well attended Mrs Fred was the lucky winner of the quilt that was raffled off by the club The Junior Girls Ball Club finished off their ball tournament in Eden Mills Ball Park on Sunday It rained out last Sunday and the weatherman cooperated beautifully this week Congratulations to MacPherson on his wins with poultry at Acton Pall Fair and also to wife Helen who took prizes with her vege tables and flowers Mrs Lillian Jennings who was bereaved of her husband last January recently held a farewell family dinner prior to taking up residence in Guclph Mrs Grlmwood has lived in the village for years All her family were able to bt present for the occasion and they ore Ada and George Gamakos Toronto Doris and Frank Dyson Guelph Fred and Sheila of Hon over Lillian Robinson Anita and Willis Hardy of Dornoch Alfred and Betty Grim wood and Joseph Grlmwood Eden Mills Also attending were grandchildren and great grandchildren Wo wish Mrs good luck and good health In new
