didn t settle completely The whimsical Norwegian story teller kept coming out He taught he girls how to paint and write by initiating group story writing sessions The result books should be seen by the rest of the world and may if ever gels around to hiving them published Illustrated by father each page tells a poetic part of a fanciful story created by the girls The finished article is reminiscent of A A Milne This is the finest Parade you have ever Beth is the King and I am the Queen Kris is the horse you can tell by the taek As she stands there snorting with Beth on her back Slop years the house has grown and the yard has sprouted miny little buildings housing an odd assort mcnl of fancy birds pheasants peacocks sheep pigs sometimes boats and a large stable of horses to keep Joy off the streets and in he barn where she says she belongs continued lo travel to business but the oddest things started happening Wee nooks and crannies in barns over doors round corners started to sprout plaques decorated with beautiful Scan dimvian The Norwegian Gnome feu when got tired of flying a desk in T last summer and retired home to drive Joy crazy one of the first ways he found to of the housework was to carving and painting full time when the spin moves him So fir he has a bedroom full of fireside bellows carved out of little bits and pieces painted with anything lying around decorated with original flower designs The creator far too modest about the result which is a lively flowing design in rich color speaking of hills Scan dinavian farmhouses and broad breasted blonde girls What he going to do with the artifacts now cluttering an entire bedroom Gunnar docsn 1 know but supposes he should get down to the boring business of peddling them I eerluinly hope he comes out of the bedroom long enough to get his creations on the They are so cheerful they should sell like Do hotcakes sell well As soon as I saw the bellows I placed my own order I just resist them And m anxiously awaiting the publication of the indvik family s charming fairy tales 1 keeping my fingers crossed that Gunnar lets them out of the drawer long enough for he world to see Gunnar lindvik
